Chetumal, Q.R. — Police are in search of the vehicle responsible for the fatal hit and run of a Chetumal cyclist. The man died early Saturday morning after being struck by a vehicle whose driver fled the scene.
Witnesses reported the accident at the intersection of Insurgentes and Nicolás Bravo around 4:15 a.m. According to information, witnesses called for help regarding an unconscious man lying on the asphalt.
The adult man was found laying in a lane only a few meters from his heavily damaged bicycle. Paramedics from the Emergency Rescue and Medical Services Squadron arrived only to pronounced the man dead.
Police say an investigation has been opened to locate the responsible vehicle whose driver left the scene of the accident in the Andrés Quintana Roo neighborhood.
