Chetumal firemen arrive too late to save Xul-Ha truck

Othón P. Blanco, Q.R. — Elements of the Chetumal Fire Department responded to the request for help in a truck fire in the community of Xul-Ha. A man was working on his vehicle on Aarón Merino Street when the engine caught fire.

When an attempt to self-extinguish with a fire extinguisher failed, the fire department was called. The owner of the old model pickup requested the help of firemen. Emergency services deployed a fire truck from Chetumal that arrived to an already burned out vehicle.

The incident happened early Monday morning in the Mayan town of Xul-Ha in the municipality of Othón P. Blanco. There were no injuries reported, only the write off of the vehicle.
