Cancun, Q.R. — Authorities say two men found armed traveling in an armored vehicle were arrested at the Cancun airport. The incident happened Friday night outside Terminal 2 of Cancun International where police and National Guard took them into custody.
According to preliminary information, their arrests were made after they failed to stop for police when they were seen speeding through city streets in an armored vehicle. The vehicle was seen coming from the Cancun Hotel Zone when police noticed the erratic driving.
When they signaled for the vehicle to stop, the driver ignored the order and fled, leading to a chase that ended at the airport.
With support from National Guard, authorities blocked their path between gates 7 and 8 of Terminal 2 at which time both men were subdued and arrested.
