Central PDC hotel employees evicted over ownership legal battle

Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — Approximately 10 employees from a central Playa del Carmen hotel were evicted Friday afternoon. Municipal Police were at the 10th Avenue scene around noon along with a moving truck.

The eviction is reported to be due to an ongoing legal battle of ownership that dates back to 2009. Police and a cargo truck parked outside the front of the hotel on 10th Street between Fifth Avenue and 10th Avenue, to begin the operation.

After the building was emptied, locks were changed. It is not clear if the hotel had guests at the time of the eviction. Solidaridad police have not issued a statement on the Friday hotel eviction.
