Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — Urban Development has temporarily shut down a real estate development in response to citizen complaints. The PDC department received several noise complaints regarding late night condo building construction.

Hernán González, the PDC Urban Development Directorate of the Territorial Planning, says they proceeded to closed the Costa Celeste development due to work being done outside permitted hours.
According to González, the residential condo building was being worked on at night, causing a disturbance to surrounding neighbors. He said his department verified the noise complaints and proceeded to close and fine the company for failing to abide by municipal regulations.

Four closure seals were placed on the site. González said the company has already paid the fine issued by the city (he did not specify how much the fine was), and that his department will remove the closure seals so the company can resume building “as long as they follow the established guidelines.”
