CDMX Metrobús crashes into tree injuring 12

Mexico City, Mexico — The driver of a Line 1 Mexico City Metrobús lost control of his unit Friday, crashing into a tree and injuring 12.

Elements with the Secretaría de Seguridad Ciudadana of the Ciudad de México arrived to help those involved. The bus driver lost control near Insurgentes Sur and Camino Santa Teresa in Colonia Parque del Pedregal where the public transport bus landed against a tree.

During the collision, a young man on a motorcycle was forced to skid through the intersection to avoid being hit by the bus. He was one of the 12 injured. Also hurt in the accident were 10 bus passengers, two of which were minors, along with the driver.

Paramedics arrived from the Emergency Medical Rescue Squad who attended to the injured on site. Only the bus driver was transferred to hospital after paramedics diagnosed him with spinal trauma.
