Car described leaving Playa del Carmen murder scene gets two arrested

Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — Two men arrested Saturday are believed involved in a recent Playa del Carmen murder. The pair were detained from their vehicle after a security review found 14 bags of cocaine.

Arrested was 38-year-old Rosario N from Tabasco and 26-year-old José from Chiapas. The men were stopped and searched after being reported as suspects in the recent shooting death of a man.

The two men were arrested from their vehicle between Colonias Guadalupana and Cristo Rey after the description of their vehicle matched that given by witnesses to a shooting death hours earlier.

On Saturday morning, the body of an adult male was found on a dirt road in the Bosques de Cristo Rey neighborhood. The unidentified man had been shot in the head. Police found the body after neighbors reported hearing gunfire. They were able to provide a description of the car seen leaving the scene.
