Bacalar, Q.R. — A car that crashed into a trailer on the Limones-Bacalar stretch Sunday killed one person. The accident happened when the driver of the private vehicle tried to overtake a tractor-trailer.
Motorists requested emergency services outside the town of Buena Vista, in the municipality of Bacalar Sunday. Three men who happened to witness the accident stopped to help those inside the car.
A total of three people were found inside the crumpled vehicle. Bacalar paramedics reported the driver of the car died at the scene. Two passengers from inside the car were rushed to hospital. The driver of the semi was not injured.
The highway was closed while emergency services attended to the injured and the involved vehicles towed. Authorities also kept traffic at bay while forensics removed the body of the deceased driver.
