Cancun police capture man wanted for Bacalar double homicide

Bacalar, Q.R. — The Attorney General of the State of Quintana Roo reports the successful capture of a lone male wanted for double homicide. The FGE says that acting on an arrest warrant, police have in their custody José M for the crime of qualified homicide to the detriment of two victims.

The deceased, who remain unidentified, were killed on December 22, 2019, in a business located in the town of Xul-Ha in the municipality of Bacalar. Police say evidence collected suggests the arrested José M likely arrived in the company of another armed subject aboard a motorcycle to intimidate two male persons who were inside the establishment, and who had previously been threatened by a third member.

Later, after a heated discussion, they are alleged responsible for the killing of the two men, after which time, they left the site.

José “M” was captured by elements of the Quintana Roo Police in the Pedregal neighborhood of Cancun where he was eventually transferred to Cancun jail.
