Cancun, Q.R. — On Tuesday, the Cancun International Airport reconnected with Havana, Cuba, receiving its first flight in weeks. According to managing airport company Asur, a flight from Havana touched down in Cancun after again, being affected by the pandemic.
The company reported other Latin American destinations to make a landing in Cancun Tuesday included Guatemala and Panama. On Tuesday, Grupo Aeroportuario del Sureste (Asur) reported 318 operations at Cancun International, maintaining high activity in the current recovery stage due to the COVID-19 crisis.
Of those 318 operations,158 were arrivals of which 71 were national and 87 international, and 160 departures, including 72 within the country and 88 abroad.
Other international destinations that landed at Cancun International Tuesday included flights from Atlanta, Austin, Baltimore, Bogotá, Caracas, Charlotte, Chicago, Dallas, Denver, Detroit, Istanbul, Philadelphia, Frankfurt, Houston, Los Angeles, Miami, Minneapolis, New York, Orlando, Phoenix, Salt Lake, San Francisco, St. Louis, Seattle and Washington.
The international airlines arriving are Alaska, American, Avianca, Cóndor, Copa, Delta, Frontier, Jet Blue, Lufthansa, Southwest, Spirit, Turkish, United and Venezuelan.
