Cancun International part of more than 2,000 canceled flights due to Hurricane Ian

Cancun, Q.R. — At least two flights landing at Cancun International from Florida were canceled due to Hurricane Ian. On Wednesday, Ian slammed the state of Florida as a major hurricane.

Information from Airportia showed flights from Orlando and Miami were canceled Wednesday due to Hurricane Ian. Several flights from Havana were canceled the day before prior to Ian’s arrival on the island of Cuba.

“So far, we have three canceled flights, two to Orlando and one to Tampa. Two from Frontier and one Southwest,” the agency said adding that even more flights are expected to be delayed and even canceled.

According to Rueters, more than 2,000 flights across the U.S. were canceled between Tuesday and Wednesday as the sunshine state braced for the arrival of the category 4 hurricane. Two of Tampa’s airports shut Tuesday, while Orlando stopped operating early Wednesday.
