Canadian charged with attempted homicide in Playa del Carmen bar fight

Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — A Canadian man arrested last week after a bar altercation in central Playa del Carmen, has been formally charged. In a press release, the Attorney General reported that Peter N has been officially charged with attempted homicide and injuries of two woman.

The man, identified as a Peter N, a professional boxer, has been charged “as a probable participant in the crimes of attempted homicide and qualified injuries to the detriment of two female victims with a reserved identity.”

Peter N was arrested in the street on December 7, after being captured by a group of men from inside the bar. The group held Peter N near the scene after he allegedly physically assaulted two women inside the bar. The assault is said to have arisen over a dispute.

Both women filed an official complaint for their injuries. An arrest warrant was issued and Peter N, taken into custody. The Attorney General says that he will remain in preventative detention for two months until his trial.
