California woman entering Mexico in ‘nothing to declare’ lane found with 47 kilos of crystal meth

Tijuana, Baja California — National Guard and Mexican Customs have arrested a California woman found transporting synthetic crystal meth across the border. The woman was attempting to enter Mexico in the ‘nothing to declare’ lane from California.

She was taken into custody at the Tijuana international border crossing after the drugs were discovered hidden in a spare tire compartment. The bags of drugs were located by a K9 narcotics dog during an inspection at the El Chaparral checkpoint.

During the search of her vehicle, authorities located “11 packages with a granular and crystalline substance weighing approximately 47 kilograms,” the SSPC (Secretaría de Seguridad y Protección Ciudadana) of Mexico reported in a statement.
