British man remains in Playa del Carmen jail after narcotics dog finds box of pot

Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — A British man remains in Playa del Carmen jail after being found in possession of marijuana. A narcotics dog located a box that contained two large packages of marijuana during a surveillance tour in central Playa del Carmen.

The box was marked positive for narcotics by the K9 during a Thursday foot patrol along 20th Avenue. From there, Municipal Police proceeded to arrest 41-year-old Adrian “N” from Great Britain.

“As a result of crime prevention actions, the Municipal Police arrested a person in possession of two large packages with possible marijuana in the Centro neighborhood.

“A surveillance tour was being carried out on 20th Avenue when the canine from the K9 Unit made an alert mark on a cardboard box that a subject had among his belongings, and after a security inspection they found two packages inside with possible marijuana.

“Adrian “N”, 41 years old, originally from Great Britain, was arrested and placed at the disposal of the Special Prosecutor’s Office in the form of drug dealing,” the Seguridad Ciudadana Solidaridad (SSC) reported.
