Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — The body of a deceased female was located in a shopping cart that was left near the sidewalk of a public street in central Playa del Carmen. The discovery was made after neighbors alerted emergency 911 to the presence of the cart with, what looked liked, a suspicious package inside.
The call was recorded at 9:00 a.m. with neighbors locating the cart on 4th Street and 40th Avenue in the city’s center. When police arrived, they made the grisly discovery. Inside the cart was the body of a young female wrapped in canvas.
The woman was not immediately identified. Police closed off the area to begin an investigation.
