Body found inside abandoned PDC taxi man missing three days

Tulum, Q.R. — The body found inside an abandoned Playa del Carmen taxi has been identified as a man missing three days. The cab was found on the side of the highway in the municipality of Tulum earlier this week.

Ricardo Sánchez “J”, a taxi driver from the Lázaro Cárdenas del Río union, was found inside the trunk of a Playa del Carmen taxi. The vehicle was located abandoned on the shoulder of federal highway near Xcacel-Xcacelito.

A patrol from the Secretariat of Public Security and Citizen Protection was making its rounds when they noticed the car’s trunk partially open. When the approached the vehicle and found it empty, a look inside the trunk revealed a dead body.

The body was half wrapped in plastic. The deceased man had been shot to death. Municipal police cordoned off the scene waiting the arrival of the Investigative Police and Forensic Services.

Ricardo Sánchez “J”, 43, was reported as a missing person on January 9 after he was reportedly abducted the day before. Police have not provided a motive for the abduction.
