Bacalar, Q.R. — A body found alongside a highway in the municipality of Bacalar has been identified as a local soldier. A farmer from the town of Los Divorciados reported finding the body of an adult male Tuesday morning.
The body has since been identified as Corporal Andrés “N”, originally from Campeche but stationed in Chetumal. He was last seen leaving Chetumal Sunday in the company of another man. The pair were traveling by vehicle to Merida when both went missing.
His body was found dumped alongside the highway with several gunshot wounds. The second man, his travel companion, remains missing.
