Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — Paramedics responding to the report of an injured male were unable to do anything once they arrived. On Saturday, a man in his 40s was shot several times on a public beach area at 38th Street in central Playa del Carmen.
Paramedics arrived to find the man, who is reported to be a local beach vendor, laying in the sand. He had already died after being shot several times. Responding officers began a search for those responsible but were not successful in making arrests.
They did, however, locate a dumped weapon between Albatros and Petrel Streets. Solidaridad Police have not publicly confirmed if the gun found was the one used in the shooting.
