Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — A two vehicle crash along Colosio Avenue left at least three with injuries including a 10-year-old child. The accident was reported near Real Ibiza when the driver of a white BMW attempted a U-turn in the middle of the road. In doing so, the driver blocked the way of an approaching black Jeep.
The two vehicles crashed, sending the Jeep rolling where it eventually came to a rest in the central median, while the Quebec-plated BMW stopped beside it. The impact from the hit caused a child from inside the Jeep to be projected through the sunroof, however, she landed in a pile of sand in the median.
Several police units were on scene since the accident caused a great deal of traffic congestion. Paramedics were also called to tend to the injured. Those involved in the accident were reported to have only minor injuries, including the child who went through the sunroof.
