Costa Maya, Q.R. — A Maya Train worker died en route to hospital after a work site accident Thursday. The accident happened when the 24-year-old backhoe operator accidentally drove into a ditch and was ejected from the cab of the machine.
Other coworkers placed him in a tractor, the only available vehicle, to transport him to hospital, however, he died along the way.
Emergency services were eventually notified of the accident and subsequent death. State Rural Police were sent to confirmed the report. The Forensic Medical Service was called in to remove the body.
According to preliminary information, the young worker died due to head trauma.
