Bacalar, Q.R. — With an investment of 26 million peso from the Government of Mexico, the town of Bacalar now has a pier and ecopark. The park includes almost nine hectares of protected natural area and an 800-square-meter pier.
“This space is home to biodiversity with protected flora and fauna species and there the awareness of the population is sought for their conservation, which is vital for the maintenance of the hydrological cycle of the lagoon system,” Governor Mara Lezama said.
“The nearly nine-hectare Ecopark is a property with an 800-square-meter pier which allows visitors to enjoy biodiversity. The area is also outfitted with a service area, a classroom, a laboratory, points of sale and a ticket office,” she added.
