Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — Municipal authorities picked up a pit bull Friday night responsible for attacking two girls. The sisters, aged 2 and 5, were attacked by the dog when it escaped from its yard Wednesday.

While the girls were playing on a street in Villas del Sol, the dog attacked them. One of the girls received stiches for several bites while her older sister required facial surgery.
Orlando García, the Director of Regulations and Environmental Impact Assessment of Solidaridad, said an investigation is being carried out regarding the attack. Both municipal and state authorities are conducting an investigation into the dog attack.
