Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — A woman reported to be of Canadian nationality was found dead in her Playa del Carmen apartment. The unnamed woman was found by a friend around 11:30 p.m. Tuesday night in residential Selva Nova.
Police were called to Paseos del Mayab Avenue in response to the 9-1-1 call for assistance. According to local reports, a Mexican man, reported to be the woman’s boyfriend, made the 9-1-1 call after finding her hanging inside the apartment.
Paramedics attempted to revive her but without success. She was pronounced dead at the scene. Municipal Police cordoned off the area and requested forensics for the removal of the body.
