Authorities find drugs and surveillance cameras during raids in Bacalar

Bacalar, Q.R. — Police find narcotics and video cameras during a raid of four properties in Bacalar. Over the weekend, authorities conducted the operations that also lead to the arrests of two men.

“The State Attorney General’s Office reports that as a result of field and office investigations, as well as compliance with search warrants, various narcotics, video surveillance equipment and other evidence were seized during four operations carried out in properties located in this municipality,” the FGE reported.

Police said all four searched properties were along the federal 307 highway. During their first search, two men they have identified as Juan Carlos “N” and Miguel Ángel “N” were arrested.

Marijuana, cocaine and video surveillance cameras were seized.

Three more searches were carried in properties also located on Federal Highway 307, Chetumal-Cancun section, where they located marijuana and cocaine, they reported.

“At an unnamed establishment that operates 24 hours a day, the participating agents also secured video surveillance cameras and a Dahua brand DVR,” they said.

“Upon completion of the proceedings, the properties were secured with the corresponding official seals. Meanwhile, the evidence seized, as well as the detained persons were placed at the disposal of the Public Prosecutor of the Specialized Prosecutor’s Office for Combating Drug Trafficking in the Southern Zone.”
