Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — Agents of the Federal Ministerial Police (PFM) searched a central Playa del Carmen property where they found a large amount of narcotics. Two people were arrested during the weekend operation.
One of those in custody is said to be a criminal cell leader operating his base out of Playa del Carmen. The search operation happened Saturday along a stretch of Fifth Avenue in the Nicte Ha neighborhood where a variety of drugs, including more than a thousand street ready bags, were seized.
National Defense, the Navy and National Guard also participated in the afternoon search operation. The investigation ended with the seizure of the property used by the criminal cell to distribute drugs around Playa del Carmen.
