Cancun, Q.R. — Although several U.S. flights into Cancun International were delayed Tuesday, the airport did not report any cancellations. A major snow storm that has left most of the northeast buried has created Cancun flight delays.
At least eight U.S. flights into Cancun were behind schedule Tuesday morning due to the bad weather.
According to Grupo Aeroportuario del Sureste (Asur), the managing company of the Cancun airport, the Tuesday morning delays were mostly between American Airlines and Spirit.
At least three flights arriving from Philadelphia were late landing in the sunny Caribbean destination of Cancun Tuesday. Other delayed flights included those from New York, Baltimore and Washington.
The 12F (-11C) cold snap across the northwest has left numerous U.S. cities under several inches of snow. Roads have been slow going and some international flights delayed, however, ASUR says there has not been any cancellations into Cancun.
