At least 18 injured after bus rolls into Molango ravine

Molango, Hidalgo — At least 18 people were injured in a bus accident that happened Thursday morning. The passengers were injured after the driver lost control on a corner and rolled into a ravine.

The accident happened around 5:00 a.m. Thursday morning in the municipality of Molango in the state of Hidalgo. The driver of the bus was traveling along a section of the Mexico-Tampico federal highway near the town of Molocotlán when the accident happened.

According to early information, the bus driver lost control of his unit on a corner. The bus impacted against a guardrail before rolling about 15 meters down a ravine.

Rescuers from the municipality of Molango were supported by those from Zacualtipán, Tianguistengo. The injured were taken to the hospital. The bus had left Mexico City and was heading to Tampico, Tamaulipas, with a stopover in Huejutla, Hidalgo when the accident happened.
