Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — Two armed men were arrested after reports of shots fired by residents in central Playa del Carmen. Police were alerted to the sound of gunfire on Quintana Avenida by neighbors near 8th Street early Sunday.
Officers located the incident outside a bar around 1:00 a.m. Sunday morning where they found two adult men with gunshot wounds to their legs. While the injured were being attended to by medical personnel, police began a search for the shooters.
According to information provided, two armed men were found nearby. Authorities say 20-year-old Jeremy N from Playa del Carmen and 39-year-old Luis N from Veracruz were taken into custody.
Paramedics responding to the Sunday morning shooting transferred 52-year-old Jorge N and 30-year-old Ivan N to hospital. Jorge N was treated for shots to both legs, while Ivan N was treated for a bullet wound to his knee.
