Costa Maya, Q.R. — One male subject has been arrested, accused of killing two brothers for their motorcycle.
In a statement, the State Attorney reported the detainment of Rolando T, who is alleged responsible for the deaths of two brothers, aged 16 and 19. The two were killed May 17 while traveling along the Xpichil-San Antonio Puk road.
The Fiscalía General del Estado de Quintana Roo said Rolando T is believed to have killed the two about 12 kilometres from Xpichil after stealing their motorcycle. According to testimonies, the two brothers had traveled to José María Morelos to buy a motorcycle, but on the way back, they were intercepted and killed by gunfire. Their bodies were found on a dirt road about 12 kilometres from the town of Xpichil on the way to San Antonio Tuk.
In their statement, the FGE said Rolando T has been arrested for the crime of homicide in compliance with a court order. The detainee has been placed at the disposal of the judge to face criminal proceedings for these events.
