Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — One of two males on a fleeing motorcycle was taken into custody by Playa del Carmen police after they were seen traveling in a neighborhood with a firearm.
After a brief police chase, one of two men seen in the Bellavista neighborhood with a gun was arrested. The incident occurred when the un-plated motorcycle crossed paths with a police unit, which lead to a chase through city streets.
The patrol unit caught up with the pair on the motorcycle when the passenger pulled out a gun and aimed it at police, who chose to stop. The two continued forward, fleeing on the bike when the driver lost control and skidded. Both fell to the ground.
The driver of the bike managed to run inside a private home, while the passenger was seized by police along with his .22 caliber firearm.
