Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — A man was arrested in central Playa del Carmen Wednesday evening after shooting at a building. Area residents made the report that quickly had Tourist and Municipal Police on scene.
The report of shots fired happened against the façade of a business on Fifth Avenue with 32nd Street. One armed male was taken into custody after a police chase that ended on 30th Avenue. After firing several shots, the man fled on a motorcycle. Witnesses were able to provide police with a description of the man and his bike.
Numerous police units were involved in the location operation and subsequent chase that lead to his arrest. The shooter, 27-year-old Jesús “N” from Tabasco, targeted the building, which according to police, was a bar. No injuries were reported in the building shooting or police chase. The gun believed used to shoot at the building was located on the man at the time of his arrest.
