Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — The body of a woman was found wrapped in sheets Wednesday off Paseo Avenue. An area resident found the body early Wednesday morning in low brush.
Authorities have confirmed the body was of a woman. Once unwrapped from the sheets authorities found she had been stabbed several times. Police say the woman was not killed where she was found, but is believed dumped in the green area several hours earlier.
Elements from the Public Security Secretariat (SSP) along with Ministerial Police and the FGE were at the scene. The area was completely cordoned off along Paseo Avenue while evidence was collected and the body removed.
