Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — The decomposing body of a man was found Thursday morning on a dirt road south of Puerto Aventuras. The body was located around 10:25 a.m. by an area resident in the Xpu-Ha area.
According to a preliminary report, the confirmation of the body was made by police who arrived after receiving the report. They found the decomposing body near high-voltage towers lines that line the road.
Authorities cordoned off the area to investigate while the medical examiner was called in to remove the body. It is the second time in a month that the body of a dead adult male has been found on a dirt road in the Xpu-Ha area.
In late January, three men were found shot on a dirt road in Xpu-Ha. While two were taken to hospital, one was found dead.
