Another 50,000 tourists a year into Cancun with new Colombia flight

Cancun, Q.R. — Viva Air Colombia has announced the start of their new Cali to Cancun route. The Colombian airline says that they began operating the route on March 22, a route that will bring around 50,000 passengers to Cancun each year.

On March 22, the Colombian low cost airline began operations of its new flight that will depart from Cali’s Alfonso Bonilla Aragón International Airport and land at Cancun International four times per week.

The airline said this new flight to Cancun is in addition to the recent launch of the direct Medellín – Punta Cana route that now allows the airline connect to 23 beach destinations.

Félix Antelo, president and CEO of Grupo Viva said “this ribbon cutting and the official start of the international route shows that our commitment to Cali is strong.

“We know this destination has had an excellent reception by both Colombian and Mexican travelers which will favor the tourist, business and economic development of both countries.

“Today, we are connecting these two cities, which in turn, will offer travelers the opportunity to visit many more destinations in our network of connections in Colombia, Central America and South America.”

The airline also plans to start a direct flight between Cali and Mexico City on June 15, with three flights per week.
