Angry PDC residents capture pair for attempting to extort entire neighborhood

Angry residents said the two men arrived in their neighborhood around 4:30 p.m. demanding payments of 10,000 pesos under threat of cutting off their electricity. The demands were made after a clandestine installation had been carried out by the two men days earlier.

According to neighbors’ testimony, the two suspects had installed cables to supply electricity to the area last week. They returned Sunday demanding a monthly payment in exchange for not cutting off the service.

Men from the neighborhood captured the pair and tied them together. Police found one of the men had been pinned with a sign that read “Know Them Extortionists Thieves.”
