Edoméx, State of Mexico — An armed American man reported for aggressiveness was arrested after police located a private arsenal. The tactical gear, guns and ammo were found inside his home Saturday in the city of Edoméx in the State of Mexico.
During the arrest, police also reported finding the man wearing a CIA (Central Intelligence Agency) badge. They have not said if the credential is valid.
Public Security agents in the State of Mexico arrested the U.S. citizen Saturday after neighbors in Las Fuentes reported an armed aggressive man on an apartment balcony. He was outfitted in tactical gear, reportedly wearing a helmet and green tactical vest from which a long weapon hung. Neighbors also reported him holding a knife in his hand.
“Following a request for assistance, SSEdoméx personnel and the Municipal Police arrested a US citizen for possible involvement in the crimes of disturbing the peace and carrying weapons for the exclusive use of the Army.

“During the operation, they seized six weapons, magazines, live cartridges, and tactical equipment. The individual was carrying a badge that read ‘CIA’,” the Secretaría de Seguridad del Estado de México reported regarding the July 5 arrest.
Since he represented an imminent risk to neighbors, police entered the apartment and disarmed the subject at which point they arrested him. He was taken for medical attention after arresting officers noticed a wound on his right hand.

After conducting a search of the home, officers located four pistols of various makes and calibers as well as two Colt 5.56-millimeter long guns, one of them empty. More than 100 rounds of ammunition of various calibers, six magazines for handguns and long guns and a knife with a black plastic handle were also seized.
Authorities reported finding two tactical vests, one camouflage green and the other black with Mexico logos. Each of them had ballistic plates. The helmets had cheek pads. One was equipped with a digital camera, side light and goggles, the other, black with a night vision device on the front and a side light.

Edomex Security Secretariat have identified the detained American as James N., a U.S. citizen. Further details as to if he is a visitor or resident of Mexico is unclear.
