Bacalar, Q.R. — A man driving near the Fort of San Felipe was killed Tuesday morning in the town of Bacalar. He died from a severe head injury when he lost control and skid his motorcycle.
The deceased man is reported to have been an American citizen who lived in the town. He has been identified only as 42 year old F.C. of American nationality.
Emergency services were notified of the single vehicle accident around 6:00 a.m. Tuesday. Police arrived at the scene near Avenida 1 Costera and 20th Street where they verified an injured motorcycle driver.
Paramedics were called, however, it was only to pronounce the man dead. He was found laying on the pavement with a severe head injury.
Witnesses reported seeing the man hit a utility pole which caused him to lose control of his bike and skid. It is not clear if he was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.
