Mexico City, Mexico — Federal Police in Mexico City say an American man was taken into custody after he tried to board a U.S.-bound flight with a minor child that was not his own.
The arrest took place at the International Airport of Mexico City. The man and 5-year-old child were part of a routine passenger inspection on a recently landed flight in Terminal 1 from Tuxtla Gutierrez, Chiapas. When reviewing their U.S. passports of both the man and child, police noticed they had different surnames.
Upon additional review, the man was unable to prove his legal authority to travel with the little girl.
La Policía Federal, in the Aeropuerto Internacional de la Ciudad de México, arrested American Todd A.L. who was trying to board a Dallas, Texas flight with a 5-year-old girl of Latin American origin.
