Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — An American guest was removed from a Playa del Carmen hotel Sunday after an assault complaint. According to police, the 41 year old man from Michigan was arrested after becoming physically aggressive with a hotel manager.

Tourist Police officers made the arrest after the manager reported the guest grabbed him by the neck, leaving visible red marks. Police did not say what caused the guest and manager to become involved in the physical altercation. in the hotel’s lobby.
In custody is 41 year old Vada “N” from Michigan. He was arrested from the hotel on battery charges.
“The Playa del Carmen Citizen Security Secretariat (SSC) arrested a foreign national for his probable involvement in a crime of battery at a Playa del Carmen hotel.
“Tourist Police officers responded to a 911 call about an aggressive guest in the hotel lobby. A man was reported to have allegedly physically assaulted the manager on duty. The manager stated that the guest grabbed him by the neck and pressed him hard, causing visible redness and swelling.
“Following the direct accusation, officers arrested Vada “N,” 41, originally from Michigan, United States, who was handed over to the State Attorney General’s Office for further legal proceedings,” the SSC said in a statement.
