The additional flights will mean around 40 per day into the state. The airline says the new routes include direct flights into Cancun, Cozumel and Tulum.
Starting December 9, American will launch new non-stop flights into Cancun International from Cincinnati, Nashville, Tennessee and Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. This new flight adds to the airline’s winter network, growing to 18 non-stop routes to Cancun from various U.S. cities.
American will also operate six peak-day flights into Cozumel International and starting March 28, will launch four daily non-stop flights to the new Tulum International Airport. The additional flights will mean around 40 per day into the state.
“The airline offers greater non-stop options to get directly to Quintana Roo where visitors will be able to enjoy the natural beauties from north to south, from our beautiful white sand beaches and turquoise blue sea to the archaeological sites, the Mayan culture and many other options,” Governor Mara Lezama said in light of the airline’s announcement.
