Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — A man reported to be a former FGE agent was shot and killed early Thursday in Playa del Carmen. The man, who once worked for the State Attorney General’s Office, was found shot to death.
The shooting took place around 1:30 a.m. on 28th Street and 125 Avenue where police and emergency personnel arrived to find the dead body of a man identified as Marcelino “N”.
Early information indicates that the now-deceased was chased by his assailants on a motorcycle before being shot. He was driving his car when they caught up with him and shot him.
Elements from the SSC (Secretariat of Citizen Security) were at the early morning scene of the shooting. Local authorities have not made a public comment regarding the alleged former FGE agent.
