Chetumal, Q.R. — Aeromar has announced a direct Merida to Chetumal flight starting September 19. Bertha Medina Núñez de Cáceres, who heads the Association of Hotels and Motels of the South of Quintana Roo, confirmed the new route.
She said that the new Merida flight is expected to produce around a 5 percent increase in hotel occupancy rates in that region. She said that the new flight, combined with the border opening with Belize, should provide a much needed economic boost to the south.
The inaugural Aeromar flight from Merida will arrive in Chetumal around 1:40 p.m. September 19.
