Chetumal, Q.R. — Bus company ADO has announced the launch of a new route that departs from Chetumal. The new route, which has already begun, connects travelers with Bacalar before heading to the northern town of Chiquilá.
The Autobuses de Oriente (ADO) company says the new connections will allow promoting new tourist packages to Holbox.
Ligia Sierra, vice president of the Confederation of National Chambers of Commerce (Concanaco) on the southern border, pointed out that until now, promoting Holbox from Chetumal was not easy due to the difficulty of getting there, a situation, that he stressed, is now changing.
“Having the ease of transfer allows us to have certainty to promote packages,” he said.
The new route, which will offer daily departures from Chetumal, will also offer another run to Valladolid in the neighboring state of Yucatan.
