Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — Two subjects aboard a car hit a couple on a motorcycle killing one and seriously injuring a second.
The accident occurred along the federal highway near the entrance to Paamul. Police report that the couple on the motorcycle were heading in the direction of Puerto Aventuras when the driver of a white car hit them.
The impact caused the female passenger to be projected onto the pavement, while the driver remained on the bike, but dragged for several meters. The young male driver of the motorcycle died on scene. The young woman was tended to by paramedics who reported several arm and leg fractures.
Paramedics rushed the female motorcycle passenger to the General Hospital of Playa del Carmen. One occupant of the car was also transferred to hospital, while the driver was taken into custody.
