Felipe Carrillo Puerto, Q.R. — The family of an elderly man reported as missing were relieved when members of state Civil Protection were able to find him.
An 82-year-old man from the the community of X-yatil in the municipality of Felipe Carrillo Puerto, was reported as missing after he headed out to work, but failed to return. The elderly farm worker left to work his cornfields as usual early Friday morning but did not return at his usual time.
Family members reported his missing to authorities. Members of the Municipal Preventive Police and Civil Protection made coordinated efforts to locate the missing elder. Authorities say 82-year-old Don Edilberto Mis Chi was located more than 24 hours later.
He was completely dehydrated and was carried to safety by Civil Protection personnel where he was treated by a doctor.
