Holbox, Q.R. — More than 32 million peso is being invested into much needed road repairs for the island of Holbox. Holbox authority Manuel Escamilla García said the Secretary of Public Works of the State Government has begun the repairs.
He said the repair project will see more than 3,000 meters of streets leveled using heavy machinery, which when done, will put an end to road flooding. He said the work is being done on Tiburón Ballena and Palomino Avenues as well as side streets.
While streets will not be paved, he said they will be leveled with sand then topped with gravel to keep the island authentic. Sidewalks will also be constructed to prevent the heavy rains from washing away the sand and gravel.
