Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — A total of 37 projects worth 170 million peso has been announced for Solidaridad. The first of the projects is set to resume June 7 with the repaving of the second lane of 115th Avenue and 75th Avenue.
Fabián Antonio Herrera Quian, Undersecretary of Infrastructure and Public Works, announced that the city will resume the 115th Avenue repaving project. He also said the city is moving forward to begin other projects that include new arteries, absorption wells, rehabilitation of sports units, parks and pedestrian crossings, among others.
Quian reported that while some of the projects are in the bidding process, others have already been approved and are in the signing process.
“Avenue 70 between Constituyentes and Calle 36 will be paved. In addition to this, 100 absorption wells will be built in two stages at critical points, which have been identified by citizens and public services of the municipality,” he said.
Part of the 37 projects includes the rehabilitation of the Luis Donaldo Colosio Sports Unit as well as the Poliforum, Mario Villanueva Madrid Sports Unit and upgrades to the Puerto Aventuras baseball field.
Additional projects will include the building of a municipal crematorium. “In addition, the bidding process continues on the construction of pedestrian crossings in various parts of the municipality, the rehabilitation of the offices of the Secretariat of Civic Justice, the rehabilitation of the Diana Laura Riojas Municipal Market and the repair of roads in various parts of the city,” he explained.
