Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — A total of 16 people were removed from a bar in handcuffs late Saturday after police searched and closed an establishment. It was around 2:00 a.m. when police closed the centrally located bar and arrested 16 people after two men were found outside the bar with severe injuries.
The two severely injured people were stumbled upon by patrolling Tourist Police officers outside the 10th Avenue bar. The two men told police they were beaten by four others from inside.
The men were taken to the General Hospital for medical attention while an operation was carried out that resulted in the arrests of 16 people. The four alleged responsible for the physical assault on the two men were found. The others were charged with administrative offences.
